爱思英语编者按：9月2日，一只硕大的白兔出目前台湾桃园大园乡海军基地，这只兔子以一种很惬意舒服的姿势斜躺在机堡上，面向天空，俏皮的三瓣嘴还露出迷人微笑，萌萌的模样格外惹人注意。

据了解，这只大白兔是由荷兰大黄鸭之父霍夫曼塑造的大型装置艺术作品月兔，也是霍夫曼的第四个孩子。霍夫曼被中国神话中捣杵的玉兔所吸引，激起出以玉兔为原型进行创作的想法，于是在中秋节到来之际，特别为台湾创作了月兔，而这也是月兔新作的首次展出。
月兔长达25米，外表使用的杜邦防水纸，会随风飘动，使得兔子产生毛茸茸的逼真感，而内部则以木材加保丽龙框架支撑，月兔斜躺着，像是在考虑，也像在赏月。
不能不提到的是，月兔所在的桃园大园乡海军基地也颇为特殊，在这处面积达428公顷的海军基地中，地景艺术节用约40公顷，展场包含过去军机机堡、跑道等。因为这处基地过去警备森严，不对外开放，这次结合地景艺术展出，也可一窥过去是黑猫中队基地的神秘面纱。
黑猫中队，是台湾空军秘密侦察部队前空军35中队的别称，用的队徽为黑猫，在中国台湾与国内进行冷战期间配合美国中央情报局实行深入内地领空的高空夜间电子侦察任务。
不知这只可爱的大白兔是否会像它的哥哥大黄鸭一样，掀起一阵盛行全球的月兔风。
Huge white rabbit: another brainchild of rubber duck creator

The latest creation of Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman, a huge white rabbit, will meet the public on Thursday during a festival in Taiwan, local media reported.
The 25-meter-tall model was spotted reclining at an old aircraft hangar of the former Taoyuan Naval base during a preview of the Taoyuan Land Arts Festival on Tuesday.

The giant rabbit faces towards the sky, so people hardly see its face, except via birds-eye view.
Made of waterproof paper, wood and styrofoam, the rabbit can withstand both sunshine and rain, but may fall victim to typhoons, the report stated.
Workers are still in a rush to complete details, it added.
Hofmans creation, amongst many of his giant animal work, aims to arouse happiness and draws inspiration from the traditional Chinese legend of Change and Jade Rabbit.
The 37-year-old artist is best known in China for creating the big rubber duck, which made quite a splash last year in the country by floating on Hong Kongs Victoria Harbor and the Kunming Lake of the Summer Palace in Beijing. The rubber duck had so far traveled 23 cities in 12 countries.
